New York in a Day =)
Today, we had our fill of having a brief but thorough introduction of almost the whole of New York.
I never knew New York City was that congested!
Guess thats what makes New York Unique!
The only way to make space for more buildings was to tear down buildings!
We had a guide to show us ard.
We first passed by China Town which i didnt even knw it existed in New York.
All the signboards and shop names were like in Chinese.

We went to Wall Street too.
95% of the people actually work there!
We actually got to see the 1st government office in US where George Washington useed to work.

One minute of silence please.
For those who died in the infamous incident of the 911 case.
Ard 2800 people died...
This includes 343 firemen and rescue workers too... =(
Whats left of the 2 majestic twin towers is a HUGE hole.
Which is so sad.

The Empire State building. The haven for King Kong.
It used to be the tallest building till World Trade Centre took over.
If my memory dont fail me..i think its abt 102 storeys high!
And do u knw they only took 1 year and 45 days to build the entire building?!
Man..It was like FREEZING cold up there!
i swear i almost got blown off the building by the ultra strong and cold wind!

It was actually quite a great experience to be able to see the whole of New York fronm up there.
In fact, it seems kinda of romantic too!
I think someone actually proposed to his loved one at the top of the empire building.
So sweet can. *hint*

OHHH...one thing abt New York is that they really seem to celebrate the festive season Christmas.
Everywhere had like really colourful beautiful lights!
There was this really really HUMONGOUS X'mas tree which had almost 3000 light bulbs!
And do u knw the X'mas tree is actually a REAl tree!
Unlike those plastic green fake trees used in S'pore.

Patriotism is definitely another quality seen in New York.
US flags were literally seen almost everywhere!

Off we went on a cruise!
Saw the 3 famous bridges New York.
The oldest Brookyln bridge
Which was totally made manually by man.

The Manhattan Bridge.

And the Williamsburg Bridge.

One of the most interesting sight seen while on this cruise.
*DRUM ROLL*
The Statue of Liberty.
We definitely owe her one man..
Without her, we wont be here.
Some interesting Facts of the Statue of Liberty.
-She has a 35 foot waistline..heeehee..suddenly we dont feel as guilty eating so much now.
-The 7 rays of the crown that she's wearing represent each of the 7 continents.
-The torch that she's carrying is covered with thin sheets of 24k GOLD.

Lunch time!
Guess where we had our lunch out of the wide array of choices available!
None other than Yoshinoya.
Cos its already the cheapest although its relatively more expensive as compared to in S'pore.
I had something special thou, its not available in S'pore. BBQ Chicken bowl. Super YUummy=))

Ohh! We also came across an entirely hello kitty shop! Sanio.

Madame Tussauds, The wax museum!
It was definitely the highlight of today!
Really damn fun!!
We took countless pictures with all the famous people in the world!
Jennifer Anniston, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Michael Jackson, John Trovolta, Hugh Grant, George Washingtonm, Oprah Winfrey and Ghandi (Which mel went crazy over), Super Man, Bill Gates and Albert Einstein (which my sis went crazy over), Johnny Depp (Which i went crazy over), Just to name a 'few'.
OH MY GAWD!
GUESS WHAT!
Mel actually went into the CHAMBER of HORRORS with me!
U shld have seen her man!
Im so proud of her accomplishment! She shld receive a medal for Bravery man!
Even my sis didnt dare can.

Hmm, the last place we went to was the United Nations Headquarter.
It was erm OK lar.
Quite interesting actually.
They had like this campaign against aids.
There was this Purple dress made entirely of purple condoms of different shades which Mel totally fell in love with.
Too bad prom was over. If not she would have definitely use it for her prom gown.
But it was really super cool. U must check it out!
Well, that was the end of the introduction to New York.

Guess all of us havent really adjusted to the difference in timing.
Now's already 3am and me and mel are still typing this entry.
And we have another long exciting day tml!
We're going to visit the __A___A ___L_!
Ok im sure smart enough to figure out!
Tune in for more tml if u wanna find out! ;)
